Have you been eyeing our newest Argentinian hat band, but aren't quite sure how to attach it to your hat? Don't worry, we are here to help!
When it comes to replacing/adding a hat band to your hat, there is not only one correct way to do so! But we do have some suggestions and tips on how you can go about it.
If your hat has an existing band that you are replacing, it is important to remove it carefully so that you do not accidentally damage the base of your hat. Depending on the specific hat band, you can either unbuckle it or untie it first. If it is glued to the hat, gently and slowly peel it off first. If it is sewn into the hat, you can use scissors or a thin knife to carefully detach it.
Now that you're ready to attach your new hat band, wrap your new hat band around the base of the hat's crown, making sure it lies flat against the hat. Either hook the ends together or tie them at the back of the hat, depending on the type of band.
You have more than one option on how you want to secure the band in place. Either glue it to the hat, or stitch it to the hat.
We recommend using a hot glue gun if you go the glue route. Apply a small dab of glue to the hat band, and gently press it in place against the hat. How much glue you use is up to you, but if you want it extra secure, we recommend doing a dab of glue on both sides of the hat, and one on the front.
If you prefer to stitch the band to the hat, you can use a needle and thread and stitch it either through the sweatband or directly to the hats material.
Once you're done, give it some finishing touches by ensuring the band is centered and sits evenly against the hat. Smooth out any wrinkles or creases, and add any other decorative elements as desired!
